KCBS Sanctioned Barbecue Contest
Saturday, August 28, 2010 Nevada, Iowa You are invited to participate in the Fifth Annual Nevada Kiwanis Club Barbecue Contest, Saturday, August 28, 2010 to be as part of the annual the Lincoln Highway Days Festival at the Story County Fairgrounds in Nevada, Iowa; the 26th best small city in the USA.
Our barbecue contest is sanctioned by the KCBS and will feature pork ribs, pork shoulder, brisket and chicken. Teams are expected to furnish their own meat. The contest registration fee for entry is $150 due August 1, 2010. Prize money will total about $6000. First prize in each category will be $300, with prize money being awarded through tenth place in each category. The Grand Champion prize will be $1500, Reserve Grand Champion prize will be $500 and 3rd prize will be complimentary registration for the 2010 contest. Proceeds from the barbeque contest go to the Nevada Kiwanis Club High School Scholarship Fund. Entry form and volunteer sign-up sheets are linked below.
